Eurosupply to Dakar
Daan van der Poel, owner of Eurosupply, and his wife Caroline are participating in the 2008 Amsterdam - Dakar Challenge. Eurosupply is the distributor for Niftylift and Hitachi Platforms in the Netherlands as well as being an IPAF training centre.
The Dakar challenge starts on the first of November in Amsterdam and then the 7.000 kilometre course runs through Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and finally into The Gambia. This is the second time the couple have entered the challenge, having completed the course successfully in 2006.

For this years challenge van de Poel has built a special version of a Citroën Deux Cheveaux, better known in Holland as the “Ugly Duck” christened Dakar Duck 2, the car has both a front and a rear mounted engine and four wheel drive with special grip tyres in order to survive the tough desert conditions.
A number of Dutch access companies are already helping sponsor the entry in aid of charity, and the couple have already raised over € 5.000. The money will be donated to the Humanity Aid Foundation in The Gambia as a microcredit for the development of vegetable plots along with clothing and jewellery workshops.
