AFI aids local charities
A charity programme recently launched by UK aerial lift rental company AFI-Uplift is helping support charities in local communities where the company’s depots are based.
In its first initiative under the new programme, AFI raised £1,000 for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, through pledging a sum of money for every machine hired by customers of its Glasgow depot over a three month period.
Since then donations have been made throughout the UK to support fund-raising being carried out by employees. For example, Bridgend depot engineer Steuart Stafford and his partner Rhian Evans raised over £1,800 for the Wales Air Ambulance service after completing a gruelling 3,200 mile Land Rover rally which took in 10 countries in seven days.

The couple were sponsored by family, friends and work colleagues, plus a £250 donation from AFI.
AFI also contributed £700 towards the costs of holding a company charity golf day in aid of the Birmingham and District Deaf Children’s Society, and have matched a £140 amount raised by East Midlands hire desk controller Peter Eggleston, who competed in the Robin Hood Marathon to raise funds for Children In Need.
