Access Link expands

The UK’s Access Link has confirmed the appointment of two new members, Facelift as we reported earlier today and Huntley Plant of Newcastle.

The appointments were approved at the Link’s recent meeting hosted by MEC in Shropshire. Facelift becomes a member through its Liverpool depot which will cover the Merseyside region and Huntley Plant, based in Newcastle will cover the North East.

Huntley Plant was previously appointed as associate members but has now grown to full membership status by virtue of their compliance with Link requirements.

Malcolm Bowers the 2008 chairman of the Access Link said: “These appointments are really good news for the Link in that they are both excellent companies each with something different to offer. Facelift will bring marketing expertise and Huntley Plant will contribute youth and enthusiasm. We look forward to having them at our next meeting, which will be held on December third hosted by Bravi UK.”

The Access Link has received a number of knocks over the past few years or so, as Lavendon and past member AFI snapped up one member after another. One of the greatest losses being Panther, which was not only the largest provider of re-hire work for members, but its owners Richard Miller and Brian Fleckney were driving forces in the management and development of the Link.

In the past year or so the membership has stabilised and a number of member owners, have become more active and helped step up the pace of development of the Link.

Bringing new members of Facelift’s calibre on board, with its highly active marketeer/MD, Gordon Leicester, can only help take the link to new heights. While the enthusiasm for the industry and telehandler expertise of Stephen Huntley will add to the dynamic mix within the Link.

The organisation appears to be on a roll.
