Star Rentals takes first MEC 4069s
Seattle, Washington based rental company Star Rentals has purchased the first units of MEC’s new 4069ERT compact Rough Terrain scissor lift.
The new 40ft machine is battery powered with a platform capacity of 360kg and is narrower than its predecessor, the 3772, with a lower stowed platform height of 1.4 metres. It also features a pipe rack for carrying awkward sized materials.
Bob Kendall, president of Star Rentals, said: “We had been looking for a replacement for our existing 41ft Upright electric scissor lifts, which needed to be retired. We have a unique market here in the Pacific Northwest for big-deck electrics.”
“At the time, MEC had the 3772ES four wheel drive and self-levelling outriggers. It fit pretty closely to what we were looking for, so we decided to try it and see how it went. Our customers liked those units to the point where they started asking for them by name.”

“The customers’ enthusiastic acceptance of previous MEC Crossover scissor lifts made committing to the new 4069ERT a no-brainer,” added Kendall.
