Man injured on falling boom truck
A crane operator was seriously injured yesterday after the boom truck he was using overturned in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
The operator, 55, was said to be lifting telegraph poles with the Manitex 1201 boom truck, when one of the slings slipped causing the pole to shift and cause an overload situation. However the photograph that we have been sent suggests that the outrigger dropped into some sort of void.

The overturned crane appears to have had a problem with its front outrigger
The operator tried to jump clear of the falling crane, but apparently tripped and was struck by it as it went over. He was resuscitated at the scene and then air lifted to a hospital in Las Vegas, his condition was described as serious.
