Alfasi takes LR 1300 SX
Australian construction and engineering company Alfasi has taken delivery of its first 300 tonne Liebherr LR 1300 SX duty cycle crawler crane.
The LR 1300 SX is one of Liebherr Nenzing’s most successful crawler cranes with a wide number of boom and jib configurations up to a 172 metres maximum system length, and is often used for maintenance and assembly work on wind power installations. The LR 1300 SX can also be moved fully rigged, with a variable track width from 4.8 to eight metres.
The crane’s first project was constructing a half-size replica of the Eiffel tower at the Venetian complex in Macau, China. The crane was configured with 59 metres of its main boom and 101 metres of its heavy duty luffing jib.
Sacha Sikka, Alfasi national crane manager, said: “This crane was selected due to its ability to reach the required heights of over 140 metres without the Derrick or Superlift Wagon. It is also the perfect machine for this project as it can work within the tight confines of site while offering the smooth subtle operations required when building this complex steel structure.”
